The team Ellerstina Citi with Facundo Pieres (+10), Mariano Aguerre (+9), Gonzalo Pieres (+10) and Nicolás Pieres (+9) is the winner of the 119th Argentine Open in Palermo, Buenos Aires. With a final score of 12/10 Ellerstina Citi beat team La Dolfina Hope Funds with Adolfo Cambiaso (+10), David Stirling (+10), Pablo Mac Donough (+10) and Juan Martín Nero (+10).
Around 25,000 spectators and the POLO+10 Team attended the exciting final at the „Catedral del Polo“, where Ellerstina showed a consistently brilliant teamplay. An it worked. In the fifth chukka Ellerstina took the lead with a score of 9/7. Adolfo Cambiaso (+10) found new strengh in the seventh chukka. Final score of the seventh chukka, 12/10. But in the last few minutes La Dolfina just couldt’nt get through the wall of Ellerstina. At the end, Cambiaso missed six crucial penalty shots, finally giving the game to a resilient Ellerstina.
