The 26th UK Women’s National Tournament 2014 will be held on the 23rd and 24th August at Ascot Park Polo Club in the Southwest of London.
The IWPA National Women’s Polo Tournament takes place twice a year on grass and in the arena. The UK National Women’s Polo Tournament is now in its 26th year and remains the largest and longest established women’s polo event in the international polo calendar.
The first National Women’s Tournament was held in 1989 and the International Women’s Polo Association (IWPA) was subsequently founded by Pippa Gillard (nee Grace) in 1997. Under Pippa’s stewardship, the IWPA continues to promote and support women polo players in 33 countries worldwide.
Team handicaps range from -8 to 2 goals, making this the most inclusive women’s polo tournament in the UK and one of very few featuring women-only teams. Many of the country’s highest handicapped women players will be competing, including Ascot Parks very own two-goaler Rosie Ross.
The UK Women’s National Tournament 2014 is being run with the support of Tally Ho Polo, the official supplier to the England Team and Europe’s largest polo equipment supplier. Additional sponsors for the 26th year of this tournament include Black Hound Sports, Shotter & Byers Veterinary Clinic, The Polo Times Magazine, The Polo Magazine and Gillian Hughes Photography.
