Third consecutive win for team Thai Polo Club

The sport of kings once again on Hua Hin white sand beach… the fourth ‘Asian Beach Polo Championship InterContinental-B.Grimm’, Asia’s only beach polo tournament got underway at the weekend, with the winning for Thai Polo Club over Macau Polo team with the score of 5-0. The tournament took place at beachfront of InterContinental Resort Hua Hin and the winner won the Princess PA’s Cup. The Asia’s only beach polo tournament was co-organized by Mr.Suwat Liptapanlop, an Advisory Chairman of Organizing Committee for Asian Beach Polo and Mr.Harald Link, chairman of B.Grimm Group and President of Thailand Equestrian Federation as an Organizing Committee Chairman. The game was organized to raise funds for the ‘Kamlangjai Project’ or Inspire by Princess PA, initiated by HRH Princess Bajrakitiyabha.

Mr.Suwat Liptapanlop, an advisory Chairman of Organizing Committee for Asian Beach Polo Championship said ‘the event is the perfect match of elegant sport and classic destination. Hua Hin is an ideal location as its long and wide beach offering plenty room for tournament. Building on the success of the last three years, the Asian Beach Polo Championship promises to be another phenomenon event bringing its fun sport and for a very good cause.’
High socialites with good hearts at the Asian Beach Polo Championship this year including M.R.Priyanandana Rangsit, M.L.Poonyanuch Kashemsanta, M.L.Napas Rajani, Khunying Kertsiri Sarutanond, Ms.Jitrsumarn Amatyakul, Ms.Kim Chongsatitwatana, Ms.Sasina Napasab, Ms.Natsupa Prachuabmoh, Ms.Proudputh Liptapanlop, Ms.Viphavee Khoman, Ms.Samornmitr Lamsam, Mr.Sayam and Mrs.Kristi Sethaputra, Ms.Tipaporn Ajanant, Ms.Srisuphang Morris and many more.
The event started off with a colorful parade along the beach for the official opening ceremony. Then, spectators saw how good the young Thai polo players were in the special Kids’ Polo match and the Kids’ Fashion show on horseback by Burberry, Ralph Lauren, Little Marc Jacobs and Kenzo Kids brands against the backdrop of a beach theme fashion.
The excitement started with the match for the third place winner and the third place went to Hong Kong team, with India team taking the final place. The program was followed by the final match between Macau Polo VS Thai Polo Team which led by Harald Link. Finally, Thai Polo team rode to its victory with the score of 5-0 and secured its third consecutive Asian Beach Polo championship this year.
The day concluded with sumptuous dinner at the hotel’s courtyard while enjoying Beachwear fashion show from La Perla, Emilio Pucci, Cindy for Jantzen, DVF Loves ROXY and Quiksilver brands. The charity still was on with the auction on two oil paintings. The impressionist in realistic paintings namely ‘Leela’ (gracefulness and elegance) was completed by Hua Hin local artist who brought together under the concept of ‘Horse and Hua Hin’. The bid started from 100,000 Baht a piece. The bidding was energized and Harald Link won Leela No.1 with the highest bidding of 300,000 Baht. After that, Lanjakorn Pattamasing na Ayutdhaya and friends Mok Po San won Leela No.2 with the bid of 470,000 Baht. The night also raised 770,000 from auction. The sold was really for a good cause as more funds will be going to ‘Kamlangjai project’.
