On Saturday, the 20th of April 2013, Hua Hin again becomes the setting for the Asian Beach Polo Championship. For the fourth time four teams with players from India, Hong Kong, Macau and Thailand will be playing against each other at the beach in front of the Intercontinental Hua Hin resort for the Princess Pa’s Cup.
Hua Hin, approximately 230 kilometers south of Bangkok, is the oldest and most exclusive seaside resort of Thailand. Since king Rama VII had his summer palace build there in the middle of the 1920s, the Thai royal family spends the hottest months of the year regularly at the western Gulf of Siam. Many Bangkokers appreciate Hua Hin as a weekend and summer residence, too. The fishing village has become a meeting point of the Thai high society.
