Uwe Schröder (0), Naomi Schröder (0), Gaston Maiquez (+6) and Martin Inchauspe (+6) of team Tom Tailor announced the winners of the Beluga Austrian Open 2014. It was an extremely exciting final day. Margit Kotrosits of Poloclub Schloss Ebreichsdorf said, ‘It came down to an incredible final between Tom Tailor and our main sponsor Beluga, who had a great deal of fans supporting them. And it is of course always exciting to watch Austria compete against Germany.’ The final match was also particularly exciting, as two father daughter teams played against each other. Uwe and Naomi Schröder in the Tom Tailor team competed against Koko and Robert Kofler of team Beluga for victory.
The two finalists fought right up to the last minute of the match. The final goal of the match just deciding the outcome of the game. Martin Inchauspe gained control of the ball in the middle of the pitch and scored an absolutely fantastic goal. Santiago C. Marambio was unable to stop him and Tom Tailor left the pitch the winners with a final score of 8-7. Koko Kofler (0), Robert Kofler (+1), Horacio Fernandez Llorente (+5) and Santiago C. Marambio (+6) of team Beluga therefore took second place.
Polina Nazarova (+1), Robert Szucz (0), Fernando Miño (+4) and Tomas Maiquez (+6) of team Raika achieved third place. Team Raika won their game 9-6 against Andras Tombor (0), Benjamin Darroux (+1), Juan Jose Storni (+5) and Matias Machado (+4) of team Bardon.
The Austrian Polo Open is the sporting and social highlight of the Austrian Polo Season with team handicaps ranging from +8 to +12.
