Im Finalspiel am Sonntag setzte sich das Team Sotogrande mit dem dominikanischen Polostar Bobby Jimenez mit einem 2-zu-1-Sieg über das favorisierte Team Lifestyle Companies (Marty van Scherpenzeel, Luis Alfonso Paniagua / Pablo Cabrera, Todd Offen) durch und wurde damit zum Sieger des 1. Annual Cap Cana Beach Polo World Cup. Die Torschützen im Team Sotogrande waren Bobby Jimenez und sein Teamkollege aus Costa Rica, Luis Escobar. Parallel zum Poloturnier fand am Donnerstag im Punta Espada Golf Club ein Golfturnier statt – Golf meets Polo. Bei der Polo Party am Samstagabend, die unter dem Motto „ All but the Horse“ stand, feierten mit DJ Erick JR und DJ Erok am Marina Beach Spieler, Sponsoren, Partner und Freunde bis tief in die karibische Nacht. First Annual Cap Cana Beach Polo World Cup
From 10 – 13 December 2009, six 3-man teams will vie for the first ever Cap Cana Trophy at matches on the heavenly Caribbean Juanilloo Beach.
Team Sotogrande (with Dominican polo star Bobby Jimenez) prevailed against the favourites Team Lifestyle Companies (Marty van Scherpenzeel, Luis Alfonso Paniagua / Pablo Cabrera, Todd Offen) winning 2-1 to secure the first Annual Cap Cana Beach Polo World Cup. Team Sotogrande’s goal-scorers were Bobby Jimenez and his Costa Rican teammate Luis Escobar. Simultaneously, a golf tournament was also played on Thursday in Punta Espada Golf Club – Golf meets Polo. At the “All but the Horse” Polo-party on Saturday evening, players, sponsors, partners, and friends partied late into the Caribbean night with DJ Erick JR and DJ Erok on the Marina Beach.
