Das erste nationale Jugend-Polo-Camp vom 26. bis 30. Juli 2010 im Pferdesportzentrum Samedan bei St. Moritz war ein voller Erfolg und alle Beteiligten hatten jede Menge Spaß. Organisiert wurde das Nachwuchsevent für Jugendliche im Alter von 12 bis 20 Jahren von der St. Moritz AG. „Wir haben uns für diesen Schritt entschieden, weil wir unsere Faszination für den Polo-Sport mit der breiten Bevölkerung teilen wollen. Gleichzeitig wollen wir dadurch das Engadin langfristig zu einem Zentrum des Pferdesports machen“, sagt Bernhard Pöllinger, Head of Sport der St. Moritz Polo AG.
Für die Teilnahme am Polo Jugend Camp waren erste Reitkenntnisse Voraussetzung. Doch auch für diejenigen, die noch nie im Sattel gesessen haben, hat die St. Moritz AG Möglichkeiten zum Pololernen geschaffen. So wurde eine Poloschule ins Leben gerufen, die von Juli bis September 2010 verschiedene Kurse sowie Privatunterricht anbietet. Teilnehmen können Erwachsene, Jugendliche und Kinder ab 8 Jahre.
Für die Zukunft plant die St. Moritz Polo AG, das Jugendcamp jeden Sommer durchzuführen.

Successful Premiere in Switzerland
The first ever National Youth Polo Camp, which was held from 26 – 30 July 2010 at the equestrian sports centre in Samden, St. Moritz, was a roaring success and all the participants had a great time! The event that was aimed at young players aged between 12 and 20 was organised by the St. Moritz AG. “We decided on this event because we would like to share our fascination with Polo with a wide population. At the same time, we would, in the long run, like to make the Engadin a centre of equestrian sports,” said Bernhard Pöllinger, Head of Sport at St. Moritz Polo AG.
All participants of the Polo Camp were expected to have riding skills. However, even those without prior riding experience are catered for. St. Moritz AG opened a polo school where classes and private lessons will be offered from July to September 2010. Participation is open to adults, youth, and children aged 8 and above.
In future, the St. Moritz AG intends to host the Youth Camp every summer
