Dietmar Spielmann ist ohne Zweifel ein Mann, der sich für den Wettbewerb begeistert. Der Inhaber des Spielmanns Officehouse, einem der führenden Büromöbeleinrichter mit acht Niederlassungen in Deutschland und Büros im Oman, Abu Dhabi und Libyen, stattet nicht nur renommierte Bank- und Konzernadressen in Deutschland aus, sondern ist auch seit Jahren sehr erfolgreich im Ausland engagiert. Sein größter Auftrag ist – zusammen mit seinem Partner, Poloplayer und Mitinhaber von Jo Franzke Architekten Magnus Kaminiarz – die Planung für einen ganz neuen, modernen Stadtteil in der Hauptstadt Tripolis für fast 20.000 Einwohner.
Neben dem nachhaltig erfolgreichen geschäftlichen Wettbewerb begeistert sich Spielmann spätestens nach seinem Besuch des Snow Arena World Cup in Kitzbühel für den Polo Sport. „Die Dynamik, die Leistung von Mensch und Pferd im Team haben mich dermaßen fasziniert, dass ich mich entschlossen habe, mich im Polosport zu engagieren“, erklärt der Geschäftsmann seinen Einstieg in das Polosponsoring. Spielmann übernahm das Sponsoring für den zweitältesten Poloclub in Deutschland: den Frankfurter Polo Club 1902. Sein Team Spielmann´s wird sich unter der Leitung von Team Captian Magnus Kaminiarz erstmals beim BMW/Credit Suisse Polo Cup auf Gut Basthorst vom 7. bis 9. Mai 2010 dem Wettbewerb stellen. Die Frankfurter waren in Basthorst bereits beim Indian Summer Cup erfolgreich und holten den ersten Platz. „Ich freue mich schon auf das Turnier und bin überzeugt, dass meine Mannschaft erneut auf Gut Basthorst siegreich sein wird.“
Der gewaltige Elchkopf im Erdgeschoss des Geschäftshauses in Kronberg hat nichts mit Ikea zu tun und ist auch nicht das Resultat einer Jagdleidenschaft des Unternehmers. Spielmann hat weder etwas für billiges Design noch für die Jagd übrig. Trotzdem zeugt die Trophäe von etwas, auf das Spielmann sehr großen Wert legt: die Pflege von Freundschaften. Den Hirschkopf haben ihm jene Freunde geschenkt, mit denen der umtriebige Unternehmer einmal im Jahr eine Woche in sein Haus nach Kanada reist. Auch die Freunde haben allerdings den Elch nicht erlegt, sondern im Internet ersteigert.
Dietmar Spielmann takes up Polo Sponsorship
The owner of Spielmann Office House will be sponsoring the Frankfurter Polo Club 1902 and will also be playing on his own team at Gut Basthorst in May.
Dietmar Spielmann is certainly a man who is enthusiastic about competition. With eight branch offices in Germany and offices in Oman, Abu Dhabi, and Libya, his company, Spielmann’s Office House, is one of the leading providers of office furniture. He furnishes renowned banks and corporations in Germany and has also enjoyed success abroad. His biggest contract to date involves the planning of a new and modern neighbourhood for about 20,000 residents in the Libyan capital Tripoli. He will be taking on this project in corporation with his partner, the polo player and co-owner of Jo Franke Architects, Magnus Kaminiarz.
Besides his zeal for entrepreneurial competition, Spielmann recently picked up interest in polo after he visited the Snow Arena World Cup in Kitzbühel. To explain why he decided to take up polo sponsorship, the businessman says, “I was greatly fascinated by the dynamism of the game and the performance of both the riders and the horses. So fascinated, that I have decided to get actively involved in the sport of polo.” Spielmann has taken over sponsorship of Frankfurt Polo Club 1902, which is the second oldest polo club in Germany. His team, playing for the first time as Team Spielmann’s, will compete at the BMW/Credit Suisse Polo Cup in Gut Basthorst being held from 7th – 9th May 2010. “I am looking forward to the tournament and I am confident that my team will win again in Gut Basthorst”, says Spielmann. The team had previously won the Indian Summer Cup in Basthorst.
The gigantic elk skull on the ground floor at the company offices in Kronberg is neither from Ikea and nor does it allude to a passion for hunting. However, this trophy emphasizes one of the things Spielmann treasures most i.e. friendship! The elk head was a present from friends with whom he spends a week once a year in his house in Canada. They did not, however, shoot down the elk themselves. They bought it at an e-bay auction!
