Knapp einen Monat nach dem tragischen Unfall von James W. Ashton steht der neue Interimspräsident der Federation of International Polo fest. Der Argentinier Eduardo Huergo tritt die Nachfolge des Australiers an, der Mitte Februar bei einem Polounfall in Thailand ums Leben gekommen ist (Polo+10 berichtete). James W. Ashton hatte im November 2009 das Amt des FIP-Präsidenten von Patrick Guerrand-Hermès übernommen, der auf Drängen der drei großen Polo Nationen Argentinien, den Vereinigten Staaten und England zurückgetreten ist (Polo+10 berichtete). Genau wie Asthon übernimmt Huergo die Präsidentschaft fürs Erste auf Zeit, im April wird auf der Generalhauptversammlung der FIP der neue Präsident gewählt.
FIP: Eduardo Huergo named New Interim President
Almost a month after the tragic accident of James W. Ashton, the Federation of International Polo has named a new interim president. The Argentine Eduardo Huergo will take over from the Australian who passed away after a polo accident in Thailand (Polo+10 reported)). In November 2009, James W. Ashton took over the office of FIP President from Patrick Guerrand-Hermès who was forced into resignation by the three great polo nations Argentina, the US, and England ((Polo+10 reported)). Just like Ashton, Huergo will hold the office temporarily until a new president is elected at the FIP General Assembly in April.
