Nach der erfolgreichen Premiere im letzten Jahr findet vom 20. bis 22. August in Strobl am Wolfgangsee/Salzkammergut der VON Polo Cup zum zweiten Mal statt. Vier international besetzte Teams mit Spielern aus Deutschland, Österreich, der Schweiz, Schweden, Belgien, Großbritannien, Frankreich, Polen und Ungarn werden dabei sein. Erstmals wird das Turnier ohne Profi-Spieler ausgetragen.
Wie im vergangenen Jahr hoffen die Veranstalter auch 2010 wieder auf einige Tausend Zuschauer. Uwe Zimmermann: „Durch die zeitliche Überschneidung mit den Salzburger Festspielen hat der VON Polo Cup wieder eine große internationale Aufmerksamkeit. Natürlich gibt es auch in diesem Jahr am Samstagmorgen eine Players Parade durch die Gemeinde Strobl und die Spieler dürfen sich erneut auf hochwertige und liebevolle Geschenke sowie tolle Parties freuen.“
VON Polo Cup
From 20th to 22nd August in Salzkammergut, Austria
After a successful debut last year, the second edition of the VON Polo cup will be taking place from 20th to 22nd August in Strobl at Lake Wolfgang, Salzkammergut. Four teams with players from Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Sweden, Belgium, Great Britain, Poland, and Hungary will be taking part in the tournament which will this time be held without professional players.
The organisers are expecting a repeat of last year’s audience of thousands of spectators. Uwe Zimmermann said: “Because the tournament coincides with the Salzburg festival, the VON Polo Cup has again attracted a lot of international attention. And of course this year as well the Players Parade will be held on Saturday morning through the township of Strobl and the players can once again expect valuable presents and great matches”.
