ASPEN, Colorado<\/span>, 21. Dezember 2024 –\u00a0<\/strong>Vor vollem Haus gewann Casablanca am Donnerstag den Maroon Bells Cup im Rio Grande Park. Casablanca (Miles Rich, Pierre Henri Ngoumou, Grant Ganzi) besiegte Petrossian (Becky Schmeits, Kevin Schmeits, Sugar Erskine) mit 3:1. Rich, der am meisten verbesserte Spieler der Saison und Sch\u00fcler der Poloschule des Grand Champions Polo Club in Wellington, wurde zum beste Spieler (MVP) gew\u00e4hlt.<\/span><\/p>

Der Maroon Bells Cup war eines von vier Turnieren im Rahmen der St.<\/span> Regis World Snow Polo Championship.<\/p>

Im Hauptturnier besiegte The Agency (Grant Ganzi, Jason Crowder, Pierre Henri Ngoumou) St. Regis (Tony Calle, Nacho Figueras, Alejandro Novillo Astrada) mit 9:7 und sicherte sich damit die begehrte Troph\u00e4e. Ganzi war MVP. Aquamarine, eine 7-j\u00e4hrige dunkelbraune Stute, die von Rich gespielt wird und der Santa Rita Polo Farm geh\u00f6rt und von ihr gez\u00fcchtet wurde, wurde zum besten Pony gek\u00fcrt.<\/p>

Das neu ins Leben gerufene Turnier f\u00fcr Spieler der unteren Spielklassen war von Anfang an umk\u00e4mpft. Rich erzielte das erste Tor zur 1:0-F\u00fchrung. Nach 1:48 Minuten erzielte Becky Schmeits den Ausgleich. Gegen Ende des ersten Chukkers erzielte Ganzi auf Zuspiel von Rich seinen zweiten Treffer zur 2:1-F\u00fchrung. Rich erzielte 37 Sekunden vor Schluss sein drittes Tor.<\/p>

Andere Meisterschafts-Endspiele am Donnerstag<\/b><\/p>

Edmiston (Teo Calle, Nic Roldan, Sugar Erskine) besiegte den Aspen Valley Polo Club (Sarah Siegel-Magness, Jesse Bray, Geronimo Obregon) mit 10:8. Highlands, ein 12-j\u00e4hriger Bay-Wallach, der von Obregon gespielt wird und der Santa Rita Polo Farm geh\u00f6rt und von ihr gez\u00fcchtet wurde, war das beste spielende Pony.<\/p>

Der Aspen Valley Polo Club kontrollierte die ersten drei Chukker des Spiels und f\u00fchrte knapp mit 3-2, 5-4 und 8-7. Im vierten und letzten Chukker erwachte Edmiston zum Leben. Roldan und Calle erzielten gleich zu Beginn des Chukkers ein Tor zum 8:8-Unentschieden. 1:23 Minuten vor Schluss verwandelte Roldan einen Elfmeter zur ersten F\u00fchrung von Edmiston in diesem Spiel (9:8). Calle erzielte 51 Sekunden vor Schluss den Anschlusstreffer.<\/p>

Obregon, der zum ersten Mal auf Schnee spielte, erzielte die meisten Tore seines Teams. Bray steuerte drei Treffer bei, und Aspen Valley Polo Club erhielt einen Penalty zugesprochen. F\u00fcr Edmiston erzielte Roldan sieben Tore, darunter drei verwandelte Strafst\u00f6\u00dfe, und damit die meisten Treffer des Spiels.<\/p>

Hennessy Paradis (Taggart Mills, Jason Crowder, James Byrd) besiegte Arhaus (Britt Burtz, Vinny Sangaline, Nacho Figueras) mit 4:3.<\/p>

Mills f\u00fchrte Hennessy Paradis mit zwei Toren an, Crowder steuerte einen Treffer bei. Die Mannschaft hatte einen Ein-Tor-R\u00fcckstand. Sangaline erzielte alle drei Tore f\u00fcr sein Team. Beyonce, eine 12-j\u00e4hrige dunkelbraune Stute von Burtz, die im Besitz der Santa Rita Polo Farm ist, wurde zum besten Spielpony gew\u00e4hlt.<\/p>

3:3 stand es nach der regul\u00e4ren Spielzeit, 2:2 nach dem Elfmeterschie\u00dfen. Das Spiel wurde durch einen von Crowder verwandelten Weitschuss gegen Figueras entschieden. Der erfahrene Schiedsrichter Gaston Dorignac erhielt ebenfalls eine Auszeichnung f\u00fcr seine unerm\u00fcdliche Arbeit und seinen Einsatz f\u00fcr das Spiel.<\/p>

Potamkin Black (Grant Ganzi, Geronimo Obregon, Alex Potamkin) besiegte Potamkin Yellow (Billy Stolz, Stephen Alexander, Sugar Erskine) mit 2:1.<\/p>

Der Chukker kam der Aspen Valley Hospital Foundation und dem Calaway-Young Cancer Center zugute und ehrte den geliebten Aspen-Bewohner Robert Potamkin, den Vater von Melissa Ganzi, der im November 2023 verstorben ist. Das j\u00e4hrliche Turnier fand zum zw\u00f6lften Mal statt und brachte Einheimische und das Who’s Who der Spieler und VIPs aus aller Welt zusammen, um die gesellschaftliche Saison in der Skistadt zu er\u00f6ffnen.<\/p>

Unter den Prominenten, die das Polo, die DJ-Musik und die beeindruckende Auswahl an Speisen und Erfrischungen, die von St. Regis bereitgestellt wurden, genossen, waren der f\u00fcnffache Snowboard-Olympiasieger Shaun White, Kelley Jakle, Nicky Hilton Rothschild, Mauricio Umansky, Riley Keough, Rebel Wilson und Anna Kendrick.<\/p>

Zum 12. Mal in Folge richteten die Besitzer des Aspen Valley Polo Club, Melissa und Marc Ganzi, das Weltklasse-Event aus, das sich zu einem der weltbesten Schneepoloturniere und einem der wichtigsten internationalen Sportereignisse in Aspen entwickelt hat.<\/p>

Go Rentals, der einzige bevorzugte Mietwagenanbieter der World Polo League, ist auch ein Hauptsponsor der St. Regis World Polo Snow Polo Championship. Mit einer Vision f\u00fcr die Gemeinde und die umliegenden Gebiete haben die Philanthropen Marc und Melissa Ganzi den Club und den Polosport im Jahr 2014 wiederbelebt. Seitdem erfreut sich der Polosport in Aspen und den umliegenden St\u00e4dten w\u00e4hrend des Sommers immer gr\u00f6\u00dferer Beliebtheit.<\/p>
