Auch diesmal sorgten die Swiss Medium Goal Championships im Polo Park Z\u00fcrich f\u00fcr einen prickelnde Mix aus gro\u00dfer Spannung, Dramatik und gro\u00dfartiger Stimmung. Zudem gab es in diesem Jahr eine ganz besondere Premiere zu feiern.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Seit Jahren gilt die Troph\u00e4e der \u201eSwiss Medium Goal Polo Championships\u201c als die begehrteste der Saison \u2013 und diesmal k\u00e4mpften insgesamt sechs Teams um den Sieg. F\u00fcnf kamen direkt vom organisierenden Club, die sechste Mannschaft setzte sich mit Spielern aus drei verschiedenen Kantonen und einem argentinischen Profi zusammen. <\/span><\/p>\n

Am ersten Tag hielt sich der Spannungslevel auf konsequent hohem Niveau, denn alle Spiele gingen denkbar knapp aus: Polo Park Z\u00fcrich gewann gegen den Polo Club Zug erst in der Verl\u00e4ngerung. Im zweiten Spiel gab es sogar eine Prise Drama: Der f\u00fcr Los Lobos spielende S\u00e9bastien Le Page verletzte sich am Ende des zweiten Chukkers, nachdem er ein Tor geschossen hatte, und wurde deshalb durch Stefan Roth ersetzt. Der beendete das Spiel gegen Gr\u00e4ff Capital mit einem denkbar knappen 9:8-Sieg. Seb wurde aufgrund seiner Verletzung f\u00fcr den Rest des Wochenendes durch Patricio Gaynor Benoit, einen erst 13-j\u00e4hrigen schweizerisch-argentinischen Spieler, ersetzt. Das erste Spiel am Samstag verlor der Polo Club Zug gegen Gr\u00e4ff Capital. Kusnacht Practice, der \u201eLucky Loser\u201c vom Vortag, unterlag dem Polo Park Z\u00fcrich und in der letzten Partie des Tages besiegten Los Lobos Equilibrium.<\/p>\n

Am Sonntag strahlte die Sonne den ganzen Tag besonders hei\u00df vom Himmel \u2013 und dementsprechend hei\u00df waren alle teilnehmenden Teams auf den Sieg. W\u00e4hrend das erste Spiel aufgrund eines Unfalls nach 2 Chukka leider abgebrochen werden musste, war das zweite Spiel dann ganz besonders leidenschaftlich umk\u00e4mpft. Am Ende setzte sich Equilibrium mit nur einem Tor Vorsprung gegen Gr\u00e4ff Capital durch. <\/span><\/p>\n

Das Finale zwischen dem Titelverteidiger und Los Lobos versprach zum Start, ein ganz besonders hei\u00df umk\u00e4mpftes und dementsprechend enges Match zu werden. Doch nach dem ersten Chukker ging Los Lobos deutlich in F\u00fchrung und sicherte sich schlie\u00dflich mit dem Sieg den Titel der Swiss Medium Goal Polo Championships 2022. Vor allem f\u00fcr Patricio Gaynor Benoit war es ein ganz besonderes Turnier. Denn mit nur 13 Jahren ist er der bislang j\u00fcngste Spieler, der jemals diese Meisterschaft gewann. Das Talent liegt offensichtlich in der Familie: Patricio triumphiert drei Jahre, nachdem sein Vater die Troph\u00e4e in H\u00e4nden halten konnte.<\/p>\n
