Saeed Bin Drai´s team defeated Habtoor Polo by 6 goals to 5 and Amr Zedan´s team overcame Abu Dhabi 10-9
The victories of Bin Drai and Zedan in today´s matches for the Gold Cup brought both teams back into the tournament.
Three teams now have two victories in the Gold Cup, Habtoor Polo, Abu Dhabi and Bin Drai and the other three, Ghantoot, Mahra and Zedan, will continue to fight to get through to the semifinals in the remaining matches of the qualyfing round.
Bin Drai had a great match today against Habtoor Polo with a tough victory by 6 goals to 5. It was a game played with a lot of intensity, with both teams making great efforts to win the game. Finally it was Bin Drai mostly because of slightly better team work and accuracy. In the second match of the day, Zedan finally achieved their first victory of the tournament by defeating Abu Dhabi by 10 goals to 9. The winning goal for Zedan came in the last 30 seconds of the match and was scored by Mariano Uranga.
The Gold Cup will continue tomorrow with only one match played between Ghantoot Polo and Mahra. The game will be held at the Dubai Polo & Equestrian Club from 4 pm (local time).
