The European Polo Championship 2012 is taking place! The new host is the Santa María Polo Club at the Spanish Sotogrande. As the FIP announced: the championship will take places as planned from the 6th till the 16th of September 2012. Previous to the decision the director of the tournament Ricardo Mihanovich discussed Prague, the Austrian polo club Palace Ebreichsdorf, the Italian Argentario Polo Club and the Santa María Polo Club.
Background: After Polo Park Zurich resigned from hosting the tournament in the early year, the Lower-Saxony Polo Club was given the chance to host the European Championship. Caused by a lack of sponsors and supporters the Lower-Saxony Polo Club was unable to host the tournament.
