The preparations for the German Polo Masters Sylt – Sal. Oppenheim Gold Cup 2013 in Keitum-Siidik run at full speed. The first tents of the tent city on the polo field have already been put up. There’s still a lot to be done, until the 16th German Polo Masters Sylt can start tomorrow at 02:00 pm. The highly coveted Sal. Oppenheim Gold Cup ranks among the most important and prestigious polo events in Germany and all over Europe. As in last years, the visitors can expect high-pace polo action, exciting encounters and pure adrenaline during the period from July 19 to 28.
Six teams with a first-rate lineup have announced themselves. Host Stephanie Schneider: “The lineup promises nerve-wracking matches at the highest stage. I look forward to dynamic polo games, to the summer atmosphere on Sylt and last but not least to the fantastic audience.”
The inhabitants of Sylt have always supported polo on their island. Now, The restaurant proprietors from Kampen have put a team together, called the 4 Kampen Polo Team, including Dr. Piero Dillier. “The commitment of the restaurant proprietors really touches me. Once again, this shows that the German Polo Masters play an important role for the inhabitants of Sylt and that the islander actively help to form the event”, says Stephanie Schneider, relating to the team of the restaurant proprietors from Kampen, who have catered for the polo players for many years.
Off the polo field, an intense social programme with various exhibitors will give variety to the event, including culinary highlights and a range of high-quality clothes, as well as floristry and whirlpools.
