The Hublot Polo Cup Ascona celebrates its fifth anniversary! From 18th to 20th July the tournament will once again take place at the former airport grounds of Ascona. This year’s guest team will come from Moscow, Russia. Over the course of three days, four teams with an international line-up and twelve players from Germany, Argentina, Denmark, Hungary, Peru, Russia and Switzerland will come to Ticino, Switzerland and compete against each other on sand under the motto “Switzerland meets Russia”. The Russian polo team represents the Presidents Polo Club, Moscow’s biggest polo club, which was reopened in 2003.
The event starts on Friday, 18th July at 16.00hrs with the official opening and the first polo matches. In the evening the much-anticipated Player’s Beach Party will be held at the Lido di Ascona. On Saturday, 19th July the event continues with the parade through the village of Ascona, at 19.00 hrs begins the Polo by Night & Dinner “Switzerland meets Russia” including two more polo matches. Following a polo brunch at 12.00hrs on Sunday and a polo charity match, the final matches will decide which team receives the trophy. This year the Polo Club Ascona supports the aid organisation “Peace and Harmony“, which was founded in 2010 in Moscow.
