Snow polo at the end of the world

Ushuaia on the south side of the island Tierra del Fuego is the southernmost city in Argentina. Maybe even the southernmost city in the world. But this title also claim the Chilean Puerto Williams on Navarino Island. However: Indeed, Puerto Williams is southernly, but according to Chilean law, it is no city, but a village. Here at the end of the world every year a snow polo event with the aptly title “Snow Polo Cup Fin del Mundo” takes place. From 11th to 13th September the event that is organized by Invictus goes in the fifth edition.

The tournament venue is just 26 kilometers away from Ushuaia (almost 60,000 inhabitants) at the ski resort Cerro Castor that was opened in 1999. The southernmost ski resort in the world is very popular not only for winter sports enthusiasts, but also polo enthusiasts love the destination.
