Last weekend the Jaeger-LeCoultre Trippetts Challenge in Cowdry Park ended with an exciting finale. Five teams fought for the victory for nine days. In the finals Team Talandracas opposed Team Ayala.
Thanks to an allowed goal Team Ayala with Inigo Zobel (0), Gonzalito Pieres (+10), John Paul Clarkin (+8) and Tomas Garbarini Islas (+3) was ahead in an early part of the game and could defend its lead within the first three chukkas.
In the fourth chukker Edouard Carmignac (0), Chris Mackenzie (+5), Lucas Monteverde (+9) and Milo Fernandez Araujo (+8) of Team Talandracas managed to turn the game in their favour. But already in the next chukka Team Ayala took back the lead. Three goals of Team Talandracas in the sixth and last chukka didn’t give Team Ayala any chance – end result 8:6 for Edouard Carmignac (0), Chris Mackenzie (+5), Lucas Monteverde (+9) and Milo Fernandez Araujo (+8) of Team Talandracas.
Since 2007 the Trippetts Challenge in Cowdray Park has been played as a “pre-season high-goal warm-up tournament“. This year the 20-22-Goal-Tournament was sponsored by Jaeger-LeCoultre.
