Laureus Polo Cup

In favor of the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation Argentina the Argentine polo stars Juan Pablo MacDonough, Juan Martin Nero and Nachi Heguy as well as the Uruguayan David Stirling fought on saturday the 23rd of June at the Guards Polo Club, Windsor for the Laureus Polo Cup. In the end Amr Zedan (0), HH.SH. Maitha Mohd Al Maktoum (0), Juan Pablo MacDonough (+10) and Nachi Heguy (+8) of Team Mercedes-AMG asserted themselves with a 5,5:4 against Mohammed Al Habtoor (0), Saad Audeh (0), Juan Martin Nero (+10) and David Stirling (+10) of Team IWC Schaffhausen. However the truly winners were disadvantaged kids in Argentina. The revenues of 100.000 British Pounds is for the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation.
At the sideline rage part of the show: polo legend and Laureus ambassador Eduardo Heguy, one of the initaors of the Laureus Polo Cup as well as Laureus ambassador Boris Becker with his wife Lilly, Sean Fitzpatrick, Edwin Moses, Hugo Porta and Daley Thompson.
Rugby legend Hugo Porta, president of the Laureus Foundation Argentina: „The Laureus POlo Cup became an amazing annual event. The people coming to Windsor did not just only have a wonderful day but fulfilled an important act of humanity. I want to thank all the participating polo players as well as all persons and enterprises that supported us. They all share the believe in sport being able to make the life of young people better.“ Edwin Moses, chairman of the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation: „Meanwhile the Laureus Polo Cup became a highlight in the Laureus-Year – the perfect opportunity to combine amazing sport with the possibility to collect donations for a good purpose.“
Nachi Heguy (Team Mercedes-AMG): „The game was fast and the amateurs played along very well. What a fantastic day at Guards Polo Club. I am glad to be part of this initiative for the Argentine foundation.“
The Laureus Sport for Good Foundation supports more than 100 projects all over the world. Since the foundation in 2005 over 55 millions were collected. Over 1,5 millions of young people could profit from this so far.
