Kho Phangan is a northern island located 15 kilometres from its famous sister island Ko Samui. Compared to the overcrowded tourist destination Ko Samui, Ko Phangan is known for its wealth of authentic nature. The beautiful landscape, remote beaches and the dazzling turquoise-water make it a real paradise island in the middle of the Gulf of Thailand.
The interior of the 168 square kilometers island is a mountainous area, mostly covered with rainforest and coconut fields. Paved roads are not common, many beaches are only reachable by traditional long-tail boats. An unpaved road also connects the Thong Nai Pan Bay with one of the most beautiful beaches. Right there, far away from mass tourism the Panviman Resort Ko Phangan is located, a perfect place to escape from hectic every day life.
Located high up on a cliff, the Panviman Resort offers a stunning view on the half-moon shaped bay. The exclusive resort offers 18 superior rooms, 10 deluxe rooms, 22 deluxe cottages, 4 family cottages, 14 pool villas, 3 Spa villas and one presidential suite, including all comfort and amenities. Architecturally the resort fits best into the tropical landscape. During the sunset, harmonic noises are evoking of the jungle, getting less when the night falls and being drowned out by the rushing sea. The Spa has a wide range of amenities for their guests, using traditional Thai relaxation as well as providing holistic knowledge for body and soul. Several restaurants offer culinary highlights and a self-made organic farming project has been launched.
Not only guests are impressed and come back for another visit. The Panviman Resort gained several international awards. Amongst others the resort is winner of the World Luxury Hotel Awards 2013 and received the Tripadvisor Certificate for Excellence 2013 and 2014. In addition, the resort acquired the Holiday Check Award 2014.
The best season to visit Ko Phangan is between January and September. During this period, the climate is mild, warm and sunny and the temperature varies between 26 and 32 degrees Celsius. You should go first by airplane to Ko Samui (for example Bangkok Airways or Thai Airways). Then the best way is to use the resort-own speedboat transfer from Ko Samui to Ko Phangan.
Ko Phangan is also famous for its full moon parties. Every month at full moon, there is an open-air dance festival on the beach of Haad Rin. The event takes place in the east southern part of the island and attracts thousands of young people and DJs from all over the world, dancing a whole night long to House, Techno, Trance, Goa, Reggae, R & B and Drum and Bass.
