On the last weekend team Valiente Bob Jornayvaz (+1), Santi Torres (+6), Sapo Caset (+9) and Adolfo Cambiaso (+10) defeated Julian Mannix (+3), Clemente Zavaleta (+5), Mariano Aguerre (+9) and Hilario Ulloa (+9) of team Alegria in the final of the USPA Piaget Gold Cup 2014 at International Polo Club Palm Beach in Welligton, Florida (POLO+10 reported). Among the participants of the tournament were numerous well-known polo players such as the Pieres brothers Facundo, Gonzalito and Nico as well as Mariano Aguerre or Marc and Melissa Ganzi.
Title sponsor Piaget supported the event for the seventh consecutive year. The Swiss watchmaker and jeweller has a long history with polo, dating back to the 1970s when Mr. Yves Piaget became a major advocate of the sport in Palm Beach. He strongly believed that polo embodied the same attributes of the brand: beauty, daring and precision. The Piaget Polo watch with its avant-garde style, was brought out in 1979 and became one of the brand’s iconic models. The House will also be hosting the upcoming Piaget Hamptons Cup, in August.
