For the opening of the 2014 High Goal polo season in Argentina, the first polo challenge for the Climate Change took place in benefit of “Fundación Manos Verdes” at Polo Hotel Resort & Spa in Open Door.
The event had the support of the German and Britain embassies, and honorable representatives of these countries in Argentina, such as Bernhard Graf von Waldersee, from Germany, and Dr. John Freeman, from England, attended the event.
Four teams competed in the tournament, which consisted of two semi-finals, the matches for the third position and the final match of the event. Eventually, team Air Europa beat Mercedes-Benz Allianz Polo Team by 5-3 and managed to win the trophy “Copa Desafío Cambio Climático”.
The third place was for Emprendedores de Nuestra Tierra, which won VAG Polo Team with a final score of 4-2 that allowed them to finish on the podium.
The event was held for the benefit of “Fundación Manos Verdes” and its program about Environmental Education at schools “Usá la basura”, which was spread throughout different actions during the matches, by addressing all the possible ways towards a cleaner planet. During the day, guests also enjoyed the live music concerts and other amenities such as workshops for children, giveaways and food tastings organized by the sponsors.
