16 polo enthusiasts and international players have announced their attendance at the Piaget Polo Open Zürich, taking place from 3rd to 5th July, and will meet in highly competitive and action-packed matches. To make the competitions even more exciting, this year the playing level was raised from 6 to 8 goals. The event is held at the Polo Park Zürich (PPZ), which is located 20 minutes by car from the centre of Zurich and offers best playing conditions.
Since its foundation in 1998 the PPZ has evolve into the polo club with the most members and is the most important training centre for the sport of polo in Switzerland. It was not easy for founder Markus Gräff to establish the club, regarding all regulatory requirements which had to be considered. Now, about 17 years since its foundation, the club has received a building permit for 60 horseboxes and a recreation room to the players. Even a national referendum was convened to decide about the future of the PPZ. Start of construction will be in September 2015, the new infrastructure at Polo Park Zürich is planned to be completed in spring 2016.
Markus Gräff, founder of the PPZ, is very glad about the cooperation with Piaget, which will be title sponsor for the second year. “Piaget is a fantastic and very precious partner and sponsor for the Polo Park Zürich. I am glad that we have already agreed on a several years’ cooperation. So maybe in the future there will be even more polo events with Piaget as title sponsor.” Four teams – Piaget, Bentley, Los Lobos and AgaNola – will attend the 2015 Piaget Polo Open Zürich. Markus Gräff and his family will also participate in the tournament and look forward to exciting chukkas.
