A win for the La Indiana team

Michael Bickford, Marcos Araya, James Beim and Ruki Baillieu of team La Indiana announced the winners of the Prince of Wales Trophy 2014. The final took place at the Royal County of Berkshire Polo Club, where the La Indiana team faced Ludovic Pailloncy, Ignacio Toccalino, Pute Merlos and Sebastien Pailloncy of the HB Polo team and won 10-8.

HB Polo had a good start to the match and at the end of the first chukka were already ahead with a score of 4 goals to 2. However La Indiana came back for the second chukka and fought hard to level the score. By half time, La Indiana had the upper hand again and were leading 6-5. La Indiana managed to hold on to this lead throughout the fourth chukka, but HB Polo continued to put up a good fight and put pressure on their opponents, managing to again level the score to 8-8 by the end of the fifth chukka. A further two goals in the sixth and final chukka eventually meant victory for the La Indiana team.

Black Bears team secured the third place, after securing a score of 12-11 against Sifani in extra time. Facundo Sola scored the winning goal of the match.

The Prince of Wales Trophy is one of the most important polo tournaments in the English season and is also one of the four British high-goal tournaments that are played in the 22 goal handicap bracket.
