The Palm Beach County Convention and Visitors Bureau recognized the International Polo Club Palm Beach with the prestigious 2013 Providencia Award. The award honors local companies, organizations or individuals that contribute to a successful development of the Palm Beach region as a tourism destination. As last year, the public could vote for their favorite on the website of the newspaper The Palm Beach Post.
The International Polo Club Palm Beach was chosen as one of three finalists. The competitors were Lynn University and The Honda Classic golf tournament. The International Polo Club is one of the most prestigious polo destinations in the U.S. and is known for the most important American polo tournaments. Amongst others, the high-goal tournaments C.V. Whitney Cup, USPA Piaget Gold Cup and the U.S. Open Polo Championship are played in Florida.
