Last weekend, the San Francisco Bay Area formed the backdrop to the Audi Sportscar Experience San Francisco International Polo Classic 2014, presented by Polo SF. For two days, teams from China, USA, Panama, Haiti and Argentina competed in high goal and low goal for the victory of the tournament, organised by Cerro Pampa Polo Club and Polo SF, situated north of San Francisco in Marin County.
In the final of the high goal section, the USA team, consisting of Patrick Shanaghan, Francisco Pizarro, Vladimir Rivkin and Marcial Socas, defeated team Panama, including Javier Navarrete, Jorge Serrano Bianchi, Arturo Serrano and Juan Pablo Serrano, by 5-3.
The final in low goal on Sunday saw Claude-Alix Bertrand, Akin Sotomi, Francisco Pizzaro and Peter Laughlin of team Haiti win 6-2 against the Polo SF USA Team, thereby winning the trophy Audi Challenge of the San Francisco International Polo Classic for the very first time. It was also the first time, that a team from Haiti took part in an official international tournament.
Francisco Pizzaro was named Most Valubale Player. The pony played by Vladimir Rivkin was awarded Best Playing Pony.
