Tomorrow the 42nd edition of the Torneo Internacional Land Rover de Polo starts at the Santa María Polo Club in Sotogrande, Spain. 32 teams have announced their attendance, a record in the history of the prestigious tournament. The international teams compete from July 26 to September 1 in three leagues: ten high goal teams with a handicap of +22, 15 medium goal teams with a handicap from +10 to +12 and six low goal teams with a handicap of +6.
Among the participants are many well-known polo players such as Facundo and Gonzalo Pieres, Adolfo Cambiaso, Pablo Mac Donough, Eduardo Novillo Astrada, Milo Fernandez Araujo, Lucas Monteverde and Sebastian and Juan Ignacio Merlos. The 128 players will bring more than 1,200 horses along with them. Around 60,000 spectators from all over the world are expected to visit the event.
