Singapore Polo Club was founded in 1886 by officers of the King’s Own Regiment, 1st Battalion, and in 1941, moved to its present location on Mount Pleasant Road. During the Second World War, club life ground to a halt. Then it was mainly Lord Mountbatten, an avid polo player himself, who supported the Club’s reconstruction, together with other royal dignitaries. Singapore Polo Club today is one of the leading equestrian and lifestyle locations in Singapore.
