Start of Hurlingham Open

Today the Hurlingham Open, the second part of the Argentine Triple Crown, kicks off at Hurlingham Polo Club in Pilar, Argentina.

In the first match La Dolfina will face Washington on 2.00 p.m. (local time). The four ten goalers Adolfo Cambiaso, David Stirling, Pablo Mac Donough and Juan Martín Nero of team La Dolfina are last year’s winners of the Hurlingham Open and will try to defend their title. On Saturday the foursome won the Tortugas Open, the first part of the Argentine Triple Crown. Diego Cavanagh (+8), Ezequiel Martinez Ferrario (+7), Facundo Sola (+8) and Alfredo Cappella Barabucci (+8) of team Washington have just recently qualified for the Hurlingham Open during the qualifying tournament “90 Aniversario de la AAP”.

On 4.00 p.m. (local time), Agustín Merlos (+8), Guillermo Terrera (+8), Guillermo Caset (+9) and Ignacio Novillo Astrada (+9) of team La Aguada will compete against Ignacio Toccalino (+9), Eduardo Novillo Astrada (+9), Alejandro Novillo Astrada (+8) and Francisco Bensadon (+9) of team La Aguada Las Monjitas. Francisco Bensadon will replace Sebastián Merlos, who is unable to play due to an injury.

Tomorrow the teams of Zone B will meet: In the first match Ellerstina, including Pablo Pieres (+10), Nicolás Pieres (+9), Gonzalo Pieres (+10) and Facundo Pieres (+10), will fight against Magual, consisting of Alejandro Muzzio (+8), Francisco Elizalde (+7), Marcos Di Paola (+8) and Santiago Toccalino (+8). Magual is the second team which has qualified for the Hurlingham Open via the “90 Aniversario de la AAP”. The second match will see Cristian Laprida (+8), Hilario Ulloa (+9), Lucas Monteverde (+9) and Frederick Mannix (+9) of team Alegría encountering Alberto Heguy (+8), Ignacio Heguy (+9), Bautista Heguy (+8) and Eduardo Heguy (+9) of team Chapaleufú.
