Today the Valartis Bank Snow Polo World Cup kicks off with the team presentation in front of the Hotel zur Tenne in the heart of Kitzbühel, followed by a Welcome Party at the Casino Kitzbühel. Tomorrow the first chukkas will take place on the snow-covered pitch. The spectators will enjoy three exciting matches per day at the foot of the Kitzbüheler Horn. Admission to the public area is free on all match days.
Due to warm temperatures expected in Kitzbühel on Friday afternoon, the organizers have decided to start the games at 9.00 am in order to preserve the field for the remainder of the tournament. Together with snow expert Mr. Steinbach, the TVB and Lifestyle Events, it has been determined that it is best to play during the cold temperatures in the morning, thus preventing breakage of the field due to the warm temperatures in the afternoon. Saturday and Sunday games will commence at 11.00 am as scheduled.
The social highlight of the event will be held on Saturday evening at the Polo Player’s Night, which traditionally will takes place in the VIP tent next to the polo field (by invitation only). Gourmet dinner, live music and DJ Erok from Miami will ensure a unique evening. Sunday will feature the final matches along with the 2015 Valartis Bank finals, followed by the award ceremony.
