For three days, Sylvenstal near Pfullendorf became the centre of international polo as the 1295 Polo Masters Bodensee OPEN once again delivered top-class competition under perfect tournament conditions. High-calibre teams, international players and experienced professionals showcased the sport at its very best with fast-paced attacks, precise passing, determined challenges and disciplined defensive play.

The teams gave everything on the field while maintaining the utmost respect for one another throughout the tournament. This combination of intensity, fair play and professionalism defined the entire weekend. Particularly pleasing was the fact that, despite the speed and competitiveness of the matches, neither horses nor players suffered any injuries. The welfare of the horses and the safety of everyone involved remained the highest priority at all times.

The sporting highlight came with Sunday’s finals. Beneath blue skies and on a perfectly prepared field, the teams once again demonstrated polo of the highest standard. Spectators enjoyed thrilling end-to-end action, tactically intelligent attacks and exciting contests that remained undecided until the closing minutes.

In the end, Team Softripe Frigotec, consisting of Matteo Beffa, Bernd Hotz, Stefan Locher and Brad Rainford-Blackett, emerged victorious to deservedly claim the tournament title. Excellent teamwork, outstanding vision and composure under pressure crowned an exceptional sporting performance over the weekend.

An unexpected aerial display during the final provided an unforgettable goosebump moment as aircraft appeared across the brilliant blue sky. Away from the polo field, the tournament also offered the perfect setting for socialising and networking. Friday’s Players’ Night provided a lively opening, with Sidney King giving guests a taste of what was to come on Saturday evening. The spectacular Western Night, featuring line dancing, a country band, a DJ and Sidney King, transformed the Western-themed marquee into a vibrant celebration and became one of the social highlights of the weekend. Sunday’s programme concluded with a traditional Frühschoppen, the ceremonial tapping of the beer barrel and live music by Ahausen. Younger visitors enjoyed pony rides, face painting, a bouncy castle, a hobby horse course and glitter tattoos.

Alongside the sporting excellence, the spirit of charity once again played a central role. Through the raffle, donations, auctions and pony rides, an impressive €17,000 was raised for the Lautenbach village community, supporting an important local social project. The 1295 Polo Masters Bodensee OPEN therefore continues to combine world-class polo with a genuine sense of social responsibility.
