On our own behalf: Dr. med. vet. Lena Horn is since beginning of May new editorship member and veterinary adviser of POLO+10.
Dr. med. vet. Lena Horn: “Since 2019 I am a new member of the editorial team. My name is Lena Horn, I am 35 years old and a committed horse addict since now 25 years. In my youth, I was an active show jumping rider conquering the fences of national and international competitions. I also always was fond of playing a little Stick & Ball in Argentina or the US.
Since my graduation at the University of Veterinary Medicine of Hanover in March 2010, I have dealt intensively with the topic of Ophthalmology, especially in horses. This is also reflected in the theme of my dissertation. In July 2017 I received my doctoral degree (magna cum laude) from the Freie Universität Berlin in Germany for my thesis „Ultrasonographic biometry of the growing equine eye and examination of the diseased cornea high frequency ultrasound and ultrasound biometry“.
For over 5 years I have been a member of the International Equine Ophthalmology Consortium (IEOC). I have presented my scientific publications at international specialist congresses and I regularly take part in advanced training courses around the topic of Ophthalmology. I have worked in France and Germany as a veterinarian, both with horses and with small animals, and have completed various high-profile trainees.”
