Deauville International Polo Club

Despite the rainy weather conditions, the Coupe d’Or Marta & Lucien Barrière final – and the Coupe de Bronze Engel & Völkers final – were able to take place. And what a final! The very Normandy weather did not dampen the spirits of the spectators, especially as the sun came out for the final: several hundreds of them packed the stands of the Deauville International Polo Club to applaud the victory of the Barrière Polo Team in the prestigious Coupe d’Or after a hard-fought battle.

This is the first victory in a 16-goal tournament* for French captain Isabelle Lerenaudie who has been playing at this level for only the second season. To get to this level, she put together a team made up of the Zavaleta family, which has remained the same since last year. Two brothers, Simon and Ramiro, who know each other by heart, led by a cousin, Juan Martin, a regular at the world‘s top level, taking part in the Argentine Open, the highest level tournament in the world. It was a complicated game for Barrière, who was led until the fourth chukker, sometimes by as much as 4 goals, „but I‘ve always reminded my players that a game is long and everything can happen very quickly in this sport, and that‘s what happened“, explained Juan Martin Zavaleta. Simon Zavaleta finally gave his team a first lead at the very beginning of the fifth (and last) chukker, before Barrière again fell behind, and it was on two penalties from Juan Martin that Barrière sealed its first victory in this major event. It was also the first victory for his cousin Simon (Ramiro had already won it) and captain Isabelle Larenaudie: „It‘s phenomenal“, jubilated the first woman to win the Coupe d‘Or. Winning with this family, with two Zavaleta who have never won it before, is huge. I still can‘t believe it. It was a very tough match, but tonight it‘s a big party.” The joy of Juan Martin Zavaleta, named most valuable player of the final (he scored 10 goals on Sunday), who has many other victories to his name, was no less happy: „It‘s incredible. Already, winning the Coupe d’Or is something you think about all the time. It‘s one of the most beautiful tournaments to be played in France, and to win it as a family… there are no words to express the emotion it creates. It‘s an important victory in one‘s career, and now it‘s done. Deauville is a tournament that will go down in the history of our sport.”

Swiss Victory in the Coupe de Bronze Engel & Völkers

The final of the Engels & Völkers Coupe de Bronze was just as exhilarating, requiring an extra chukker and a golden goal from Jaime Roberts to separate the two teams and see the Swiss team Standing Rock triumph over Mungo‘s four French players. A consolation for the team‘s captain and junior, Ulysse Eisenchteter, was being named best amateur player of the final, while his pillar, Pierre Henri N‘Goumou, was the tournament‘s top scorer with 25 goals.

The Barrière Deauville Polo Cup will be back next year of course, but France’s international polo season is not quite over yet as the Polo Club du Domaine de Chantilly awaits the six teams from Deauville’s Coupe d’Or as well as a further twelve for a 23rd French Open that promises to be particularly competitive. The first games will be played on Friday, with the Coupe d‘Or winner opening the competition. Only five days to recover from these strong emotions!

* The total of the handicaps of the players on a team constitutes the team‘s global handicap (i.e. 16 goals for the Coupe d‘Or). For the record, the handicap is the player‘s value as established by his country‘s handicap commission. A beginner is valued at -2, while the world‘s top pros are rated at 10. There are currently only 7 10-goalers in the world.

The first title awarded in the 2023 Barrière Deauville Polo Cup: The Ladies Polo Cup — Diane Barrière. It was a particularly challenging tournament this year with five teams, each with at least one player participating in the flagship women’s polo tournament: the Argentine Open. It is with the two-time champion of this Open, Lía Salvo, that Augustinus Bader signs a double in Deauville after their premier victory last year. But how tough it was!

It is the third Deauville title for Lía Salvo, who won it for the first time in 2018. To reach the final, she had to defeat two of her teammates from her Argentinian team, El Overo: Milly Hine in the quarterfinals and Clarita Casino yesterday. For this afternoon’s sublime final, Lía had to contest the young Milagros Sanchez (22 years old), finalist last year of this same Argentine Open with La Irenita.

With players of this caliber, one could only expect a spectacular final, one that marks the continuous progress of women’s polo: the spectators were not disappointed! After a tense start to the match, it took until the middle of the second half to see Anais Rezkallah open the scoring. Then, in the third chukker, the players went shot for shot: the intensity of the match amplified! The American captain Megan Manubay gave Augustinus Bader a 2-3 lead late in the third chukker. After Paloma Lauro’s leveling of the score, we were heading towards an overtime period when, 17 seconds from the final bell, Lía Salvo, true to form, delivered the fatal blow.

“It was a very tough final, but I like this kind of match because it shows the level of the women’s here in Deauville is getting better every year. You could see it today with a very close and tough final where no one gave in. Today was a great show of teamwork: everyone scored their goal, Anais was voted best player in the final, and she helped me a lot. The other team was amazing, they were the same: four young players who played really, really well and hung on until the end. I knew it was going to be tough,” said Salvo.

For the Argentine champion, winning in Deauville is always close to her heart. :“I love coming here, it is my favorite destination. My father won the Coupe d’Or in 1974. For me, playing in Deauville is a tradition and it reminds me of him. I always have a lot of people I love here in Deauville.”

After a tournament in England, Lía Salvo will return to France to play two tournaments in Chantilly, notably the French Open, with the same Agustinus Baderteam before flying to her country and preparing for the biggest date of the year—the Argentine Open with a brand-new team.

The Barrière Deauville Polo cup continues with the qualifying matches of the Coupe d‘Or Lucien & Marta Barrière (final on the 27th). Already three games are on the books, and what games they were, full of intensity and suspense. The first to games were decided in extra chukker on golden goals from Bautista Bayugar (8-goaler, Los Dragones Rouge) and Juan-Gris Zavaleta (7-goaler, Barrière), while yesterday’s match saw the “firework” signed Guillermo Terrera (8-goaler Eternal J) who scored 6 of his team‘s 7 goals. All players who also shine in their flagship tournament… the Argentine Open! Of course…

It is certainly the best the sport has to offer at the Barrière Deauville Polo Cup 2023… as it has been for Coupe d’Or’s 73-year history.

The two most prestigious French polo teams faced each other this afternoon in the final of the Marta & Lucien Barrière Gold Cup: the team from La Baule, Brittany Polo Club and the local team, Talandracas, already six times winner of this Coupe d’Or. With two teams like these, each one having an impressive “resume”, one could only expect an exceptional final. The 2000 or so spectators were not disappointed. If, in the end, it was Brittany Polo Club who lifted the Gold Cup for the first time, further writing their history, it was above all polo that emerged as the big winner of this mythical tournament.

One could only expect a great game because beyond Deauville, these two teams are successful outside France, being the only two French teams of this century to have won the two most prestigious titles in Europe: the Queen‘s Cup at Windsor, in the royal club of Guards and the Gold Cup (British Open) at Cowdray.

Talandracas‘ iconic captain, Edouard Carmignac was presented with the Queen‘s Cup by Prince Harry in 2011. That year he played with two Argentine Open winners, Milo Fernandez Araujo and Lucas Monteverde. In 2014, he was again in the final with Polito Pieres, Juan Martin Nero and Santiago Stirling, but lost to Zacara.

After winning the Gold Cup for the first time in 2009 with Facundo and Gonzalito Pieres, Jean-François Decaux lifted the coveted British trophy again last year with a team consisting of no less than Adolfo and Poroto Cambiaso and Diego Cavanagh.

For this Gold Cup Marta & Lucien Barrière, the two finalist captains had, as usual, recruited great players: Benjamin Urquiza and Diego Cavanagh for Brittany Polo Club and Rufino Bensadon and Juan-Martin Zubia for Talandracas, who play at the highest level in Argentina, in particular in the Abierto, a world elite tournament. Winning in Deauville was therefore a matter of prestige for these great professionals, which explains their commitment on the field this afternoon in Deauville.

The game lived up to its promise and never, until the end of the third chukker, was the gap greater than 1 goal. The scoreboard showed a perfect tie (6-6) when the teams returned to the field after the half time. It was then that Brittany took off to take a 3-goal advantage. But it was not over yet thanks to the genius of Rufino Bensadon, who brought back the game on his own. His opponent Benjamin Urquiza scored again (10-9). However, that wasn‘t the end of the story as Rufino Bensadon had the equaliser at the end of a 60-yard penalty with just seconds to go… yet the ball went just wide of the posts leaving Brittany victorious.

“We knew it was going to be a tough game and that the score would be close,“ said champagne-covered Diego Cavanagh. We went into the last chukker with a three-goal lead, which is always good at this stage of a game. But then Rufino Bensadon put on a real show, he was unstoppable when he went off dribbling the ball and scored three goals that made us having doubts. He‘s an incredible player, full of talent, very quick, almost impossible to ride-off. He was on fire in that last chukker, he put Talandracas back in the game yet fortunately it ended well for us.”

In these very close games, it is often the horses that make the difference and it was indeed a mare ridden by Diego in the last chukker that was crowned best Argentine pony of the final: „DS Soprano is a mare of Benjamin Urquiza, that he gave me in the last chukker in exchange for one of mine. The mare is very easy to handle, very explosive“.  A winning exchange! Tomorrow, Diego, Soprano, their teammates and their opponents will leave for Chantilly to prepare for the Engel & Völkers French Open, a tournament of the same level, but with sixteen teams and after this performance in Deauville, Brittany Polo Club is now one of the favourites: „First of all, we‘ll celebrate this victory this evening as we should, savouring the fact of having won this tournament and we‘ll wait until tomorrow to start thinking about the French Open.“ Following this Diego, like most of the protagonists of these tournaments, will fly to Argentina to prepare for the biggest event of the season: the Triple Crown.

The doors of the Deauville International Polo Club closed on this beautiful game which is perfectly in line with the legend of the Marta & Lucien Barrière Gold Cup. A particularly successful season both from a sporting point of view and in terms of attendance. Deauville is a place where people learn to love polo.

We had to wait until the very last minutes of this „semi-final“ between Barrière and Brittany Polo Club to know the finalists of the 2022 Marta and Lucien Barrière Gold Cup. It will be a battle between the two biggest French teams, the only ones to have won, in this 21st century, the British Gold Cup (Brittany Polo Club) and the Queen‘s Cup (Talandracas), the two most prestigious titles outside Argentina

The two big powerful teams of Sunday‘s final were nevertheless greatly challenged by a smaller team, the winner of the Silver Cup: Barrière, whose captain Isabelle Larenaudie was making her first appearance at this level. The team she formed with the Zavaleta family came very close to being a spoilsport today. If they had won, all three teams would have had to go battle it out in a shoot-out: the famous penalty shots where nerves often play the main role. Brittany Polo Club’s men didn‘t want to go through that. The team in black was held up from start to finish by the Zavelatas, who were all very inspired and never let go of their opponents! Most of the time, the gap between the two teams was only one goal. Sometimes two. At the end of the game, Ramiro Zavaleta put the two teams back on the same level with a magnificent and intelligent goal and it took a great Diego Cavanagh to snatch the victory with a few seconds left on the clock scoring his only goal of the game! The Zavaleta‘s disappointment was sad to witness at the prize-giving ceremony, but this fine team still leaves Deauville with the Silver Cup and high hopes for the upcoming French Open.

See you on Sunday at 5.30 p.m. to know the outcome of this beautiful edition of the Gold Cup… and on Saturday at the same time for the Bronze Cup whose finalists will be known tomorrow.

The first two winners of the Barrière Deauville Polo Cup 2022 are known: the Luxembourg team Augustinus Bader for the Ladies Cup and Barrière for the venerable Silver Cup. On the women‘s part, this final was a remake of the tournament‘s opening game: same opponents, same exact verdict: 8 to 4 ½

Led by Lia Salvo, Augustinus Bader, the team already held all the information to overcome GCA Group, whose game is very physical yet the Luxembourg team decided to play it differently. Thanks to their strong horse string, they were able to play a game of small passes and escape from the pack thanks to the speed and handling ability of their ponies. This was the second title for Lia Salvo, already a winner in Deauville in 2018, as was her father in the Gold Cup in 1986! Lia Salvo was of course nominated most valuable player of the final and the tournament. But a game is never won alone and one of Lia’s strengths is to use the best qualities of her teammates. A plan that revealed the talent of the young Paloma Lauro (15 years), very efficient in the attack.

The other final of the day, the Silver Cup, offered the public some great battles, spectacular and fast actions, an open play, a great show, in short, great polo. Martin Aguerre, who substituted for Juan-Gris Zavaleta, who just had a child, quickly found his bearings with the Zavalata brothers and after being noticeably dominated at the beginning of the game, Barriere took the score board from the second chukker to finish the fourth with a comfortable lead: 8 to 4 ½. That‘s when Mungo, in the fifth, began a stunning remontada… yet they ended up missing victory by just half a goal. It was a great start for Isabelle Larenaudie who played this level for the first time! She even scored a goal which turned out to be important for the final score: 8 to 7 ½.

After these first two beautiful finals, it‘s time for the Marta and Lucien Barrière Gold Cup on Monday 15th August (17H00) with a first game for the Diane Barrière Desseigne Trophy which promises to be a remake of the 2021 final, between the title holder, Dragones and Mungo.

Polo is an institution in Deauville. It has been played in the centre of the racecourse since 1880 and since 1950 it has been the venue for one of the most prevalent tournaments in the world: the famous Coupe d‘Or, which starts this year on 14 August and ends on 29 August. Taking part in such a competition, the highest international level played in France, requires the teams to be very well prepared. This is why they will compete in „friendly games“ from 8 August when the Deauville International Polo Club will open its doors to the public.

French handicap 6, Pierre-Henri N‘Goumou will play this year for Mungo blue alongside the spectacular Tete Storni. ©RBpresse / Pascal Renauldon

Yet there will be already some competition from 12 August when three women‘s teams will compete in the Ladies Polo Cup, with the final to be played on 14 August. Women‘s polo is expanding rapidly throughout the world and Deauville is no exception to this phenomenon. And on the field, the women are as fierce as the men!

From 14 August onwards, all eyes will turn towards the men‘s polo. There will be one question on everyone’s mind: who will win the 71st edition of the legendary Coupe d’Or  (Gold Cup) that nearly every great player in the history of polo has won since 1950? This year, six very competitive teams will throw their hat into the ring.

Amongst the participants, there are no less than five players of Argentine Open level or Copa Camara winners, including a certain Camilo ‚Jeta‘ Castagnola (8), a gifted member of the young Argentine generation, who is the Talandracas’ headliner alongside Tomas Beresford (7), winner of the last French Open and of the 2021 Queen‘s Cup. The two French 6-goalers, Pierre-Henri N‘Goumou and Brieuc Rigaux will face each other, already promising some spectacular actions. The French Pommeray HM Polo team also looks very strong with the return of “little” Rufino Bensadon, who has grown since he last was in Deauville in 2018 and is now handicap 7, alongside Juan-Gris Zavaleta (7), both winners of the Copa Camara. Martin Aguerre (7), also a Copa Camara winner (2018) and a player in the Argentine Triple Crown, will be looking to lead Barrière to a second win in this tournament they claimed in 2014.

With such an array of great players, it is impossible to predict which team will succeed the Spanish team Marques de Riscal, holders of this Gold Cup title after a superb final last year against the Barrière team. Deauville’s most loyal team, Édouard Carmignac‘s Talandracas, will be looking for a seventh victory in this Gold Cup, which would constitute an absolute record.

Beyond this top-level sport, the program of this year’s Barrière Deauville Polo Cup offers other events: more polo, of course, with the Bronze Cup, some games of which will be played on the field of the Dozulé racecourse; beach polo, on Monday 9th August at 4.30 pm; the parade of the teams in the streets of Deauville on 28th August. In the mornings, before 9am, one can watch the polo horses being trained on the beach, an always very beautiful and photogenic moment. Last but not least, it is always a good idea to linger – before or after the games – in the polo village to shop at the Maison Décalé store or to taste the famous Mojitos from the Brok Café (in moderation of course) and maybe toast with the players!

At the opening game of the day, Polo Park Zürich beat Empire Polo Club of Coachella Valley in a thrilling match and won 6-5 goals. The Swiss team secured a place at the final of the 2021 POLO RIDER CUP that will take place on Sunday, June 20th.

The first chukker ended with a three-goal lead by Polo Park Zürich with one goal of Carlos Solari and two goals of Min Podesta, but at the opening of the second chukker, Tito Ruiz Guiñazu scored the first goal for his team and shortened the gap. Afterwards, coming from behind, Min Podesta, with an excellent combination with Carlos Solari, increased the gap with another goal. Tito Ruiz scored again to narrow the gap.

At the third chukker, Carlos Solari scored his second goal of the game, but in the last seconds of the chukker, another goal of Tito Ruiz put emotion to the game with 5-3 on the score.

Marcos Harriot that replaced Guillermo Li scored a goal at the fourth chukker to close the gap, but another goal from Min Podesta re-established the score.

Tito Ruiz scored his fourth goal at the game at the last chukker at the game, 6-5, but this was the game’s final result.

After the match,  the winner of the best playing pony was for ‘Mia’ from Tito Ruiz Guiñazu. The award was presented by Alexander Papantoniou (C.E.O. FormaHoof Ltd.)

The second spot for the final is for Deauville International Polo Club after defeating Hong Kong Polo Association by 7-5 goals.

Deauville International Polo Club started with a strong performance as at the end of the second chukker, the French team was leading 5-0. Hong Kong Polo Association made an impressive comeback at the third chukker with three goals by Brieuc Rigaux to shorter the gap, 5-3.

At the opening of the fourth chukker, Brieuc Rigaux opened the chukker again, but Pierre-Henri N’Goumou and Juan José Storni scored two crucial goals to get a 3-goal lead.

The last chukker was played under the rain, and Brieu Rigaux scored his fifth goal of the game again, but the match ended with two goals leading in favour of Deauville International Polo Club, 7-5.

‘Galan’ from Brieu Rigaux was awarded the winner of the best playing pony, and Alexander Papantoniou (C.E.O. FormaHoof Ltd.) presented the prize again.

The famous Barrière Deauville Polo Cup, and in particular its legendary Gold Cup, is a must-see on the international circuit. The Deauville International Polo Club and its legendary grounds in the heart of the Deauville-La Touques racecourse, where polo was already played at the end of the 19th century, are definitely part of the polo world heritage. Like every year, four tournaments will be played there from August 7 to 29.

In Argentina, the land of polo, Deauville is as much talked about as Palm Beach, Windsor, Cowdray and Sotogrande, major tournaments outside of Argentina every player wants to add to their name. We remember the words of Facundo Pieres, winner of the Argentinian Open, who, winning for the first time in Deauville in 2009 with André Fabre‘s team (In The Wings), basically said: “at least that‘s done!” Most of the world’s greatest players have added this win to their record, starting with Adolfo Cambiaso, arguably the best player of all time. He was 19 then and is 46 now and still remains the world No. 1.

This year, in the Gold Cup, there will be at least five players of handicap 7 or more, who will play in Deauville before flying off to the great Argentine season via Chantilly:

Martin Aguerre Jr (Arg, Barrière), winner of the Copa Camara, Tommy Beresford(Chi, Talandracas) finalist of the Copa Camara, Juan-Gris Zavaleta (Arg, Le Pommeray), a regular of the Argentine Open alongside Rufino Bensadon (Arg, 17 years old), again a winner of the Copa Camara and recent winner of the Prince of Wales Trophy in England where he was awarded MVP of the final. The public of Deauville knows him well as they have seen him win the Gold Cup in 2018. Last, but not least, one of the three young phenomena of Argentine polo, Camilo Castagnola(Talandracas), also 17 years old and already handicap 8 (9 even in Argentina), semi-finalist of the Argentine Open last year. He alone can put on a great show!

The other three teams in this Golden Cup have rather bet on balance by entering players with more homogeneous handicaps (4, 5 and 6). Among them are the two best French handicaps 6: Pierre Henri N’Goumou (Mungo) and Brieuc Rigaux(Britanny Polo). Los Dragones, led by French new talent Sam Sztarkman, will have three Argentinian players with handicap 5. Six beautiful teams that will be seen again in September in the French Open.

Most of these teams will have previously „warmed up“ in the Silver Cup, a title (almost) no less prestigious, which will kick off on August 7, thus opening the Deauville 2021 season (final on August 15). On the 11th, it will be the women’s turn to play with the Ladies Cup.

The Bronze Cup will start on August 16, at the same time as the Gold Cup. Eight teams are engaged in this tournament highlighting French players.

Despite the prestige of these competitions, the ambition of the Deauville International Polo Club is to be resolutely open and it does everything in its power to welcome as many people as possible. This is why access to the games, in Deauville, but also in Dozulé where the picturesque and charming field will reopen this year, is completely free during the week. Tickets are only needed for the finals and the weekend games.

The public is welcomed in a friendly village where it is possible to linger after the games, have a drink or do some shopping, such as in the MAISON DÉCALÉ store for example, and even meet the always affable players.

Side events are also part of the program, such as the traditional parades in town on the eve of the finals, beach-polo sessions at low tide or kids-polo exhibition games at the opening of the finals.

There is not a more festive and more „simple“ place to discover and tame the oldest team sport than in Deauville in August and therefore it is not to be missed!

The POLO RIDER CUP will be held from 10 to 20 June 2021 at the Polo Club of Chantilly, north of Paris.

The Deauville International Polo Club team will comprise the following players:

1. Ulysse Eisenchteter (0)
2. Patrick Eisenchteter (+1)
3. Pierre-Henri NGoumou (+6)
4. Juan Jose Stormi (+5)

Patrick Eisenchteter, Captain of Deauville International Polo Club, comments: “The Team is very proud to represent the Deauville International Polo Club for this first edition of the POLO RIDER CUP. The competition is going to be very exciting and to have it set up on the magnificent fields of the Chantilly Polo Club will further contribute to its success.”

Benoît Perrier, CEO & Co-Founder of GAME Polo, comments: “Deauville International Polo Club is one of the oldest clubs in France, founded in 1907. To count on their participation is a great honor for the POLO RIDER CUP. The Normandy team has one of the best French players in the person of Pierre-Henri NGoumou. The Argentine Tete Storni is a Pato champion and a very strong attacker. Pato, Argentina’s national sport since 1953, is a game played on horseback that combines elements from polo and basketball. The team is led by the Eisenchteter, two excellent players with a strong organization thanks to the expertise of Laetitia Macaire. Ulysse Eisenchteter will be the youngest player of the tournament.’’

After a second half of August a little complicated on the weather side, the final of the 70th Martha & Lucien Barrière Gold Cup was played in ideal conditions: sunshine for the public and freshness for the horses. It opposed the Spanish team of Marqués de Riscal to the Swiss team of Tommy Rinderknecht who played under the Barrière colors in front of almost full stands, 2,000 spectators. A hot, hot, hot match! The Spaniard Alejandro Aznar finally wins his first Gold Cup… 40 years after his father.

In spite of an open and spectacular game from the beginning of the match, it will have been necessary to wait 6‘25“ to see the first “golaso” registered of more than 60 yards by the handicap 8 of Marqués de Riscal, Alejandro Muzzio. Nacho Kennedy replied immediately a few seconds from the bell. The tone was set: the battle was going to be tough. From one end of the game to the other, the teams did not give up with a difficult fourth period, full of fouls and the temporary exclusion of the “hot” Spanish captain, Alejandro Aznar who, a few seconds before, had made a very nice action: a long ball concluded by a goal that had brought both teams back to equality. Cernadas then gave the advantage to his team on a new penalty.

The last period was like the match: a perfect equality, after a goal by Martin Aguerre, Alejandro Muzzio replied with a new penalty, confirming the Spanish victory, a first success for Alejandro Aznar in Deauville, forty years after his father who had won this Deauville Gold Cup with… Santi Cernadas‘ uncle. Polo is all about beautiful family stories: „It‘s an emotional, indeed, it‘s been five times that I‘ve tried to win this Golden Cup. The match was tense, but I am very happy. I‘m especially happy about this goal scored with a mare from my breeding, I‘m proud of it. I have ten mares for my breeding and it is a great satisfaction when the products reach this level. Then, after this goal, it‘s true that I got banished two minutes (laughs), I‘m a little bit hot, you know, Spanish blood! To tell the truth, I was hit by a player in the leg and it hurt and I shouted at him, but the referee took it for him and sent me to the sidelines. But that didn‘t affect the result, they didn‘t score during that time“. Tomorrow, the thirty horses of Marqués de Riscal will embark for Chantilly and try to win the third round of the French Triple Crown, the French Open that the Spanish team won last year.

An Open that the Spaniard will have to defend against seven teams rather well „furnished“ with no less than eleven players of the level of the Argentinean Open: Barto Castagnola (h8) and Camilo Castagnola (h7) who have just won the Queen‘s Cup, Guillermo Terrera, (h8, semi-finalist Argentine Open with La Dolfina Polo Ranch), Fran Elizalde (h8), Santiago Chavane (h7), which was 9), Martin Aguerre Jr., Juan-Gris Zavaleta, Clemente Zavaleta and Tito Guinazu (h7) and the brand new winners of this Gold Cup Martha & Lucien Barrière de Deauville, Alejandro Muzzio (h8) and Santiago Cernadas (h7).

Marqués de Riscal: Luis Aznar (ESP, h1), Santiago Cernadas (ARG, h7, 2 penalties), Alejandro Muzzio (ARG, h8, 5 goals including 2 penalties and 1 corner) and Alejandro Aznar (ESP, h0, 1 goal)

Barrière: Ignacio Kennedy (ARG, h4, 2 goals), Jota Chavanne (ARG, 5), Martin Aguerre Jr. (ARG h7, 5 goals including 2 penalties), Tommy Rinderknecht (SUI, h0)
