POLO CLUB SAINT-TROPEZ presents its team for the 2023 POLO RIDER CUP

Polo Club Saint-Tropez (FRA), the host of the third edition of the POLO RIDER CUP, is joining Araucaria Polo Club (ARG), Rincón Polo José Ignacio (URU), Polo Club Mühlen (GER), Polo Schockemöhle (GER), Evviva Polo St. Moritz (SUI) and Golden Greens Polo Club (IND) for the 2023 POLO RIDER CUP that will be held from 14 to 24 June 2023 at the Polo Club Saint-Tropez – Haras de Gassin.

Polo Club Saint-Tropez will be taking part in the tournament for the first time with the following players:

Nicky Sen, Patron of Polo Club Saint-Tropez, comments: ‘I am excited to participate in the 2023 POLO RIDER CUP, one of the most established and international polo tournaments. It will be a huge pleasure to compete in this year’s edition together with Santi Chavanne and his two sons Lorenzo and Pedro. POLO CLUB MÜHLEN will take part in the 2023 POLO RIDER CUP

Polo Club Mühlen (GER) is joining Araucaria Polo Club (ARG) and Rincón Polo José Ignacio (URU) for the third edition of the POLO RIDER CUP that will be held from 14 to 24 June 2023 at the Polo Club Saint-Tropez – Haras de Gassin.

Polo Club Mühlen will participate for the first time in the tounament, with Germany’s Patrick Maleitzke and Daniel Deistler and Argentina’s Santiago Shanahan and Guy Gibrat.

Patrick Maleitzke, Polo Club Mühlen, comments: “Our team is extremely excited to be competing in the POLO RIDER CUP for the first time. Daniel Deistler and I have already played a few tournaments together, but this one will definitely be a highlight of our season. We are looking forward to an exciting tournament and we will give our best to carry home the trophy!”

RINCÓN POLO JOSÉ IGNACIO first participation in the POLO RIDER CUP

Rincón Polo José Ignacio (URU) confirms its participation in the third edition of the POLO RIDER CUP, which will be held from 14 to 24 June 2023 at the Polo Club Saint-Tropez – Haras de Gassin.

The Uruguayan club, based near Punta del Este, will participate in the POLO RIDER CUP with Sacha Fedier from Switzerland and Matias Carrique from Uruguay.

Sacha Fedier, Captain, Rincón Polo José Ignacio, comments: “We are excited to participate for the first time in the POLO RIDER CUP. Proudly, we represent ‚Rincón Polo, José Ignacio‘, a beautiful polo club near Punta del Este, in José Ignacio – Uruguay‘s rising star for international polo enthusiasts. GAME POLO, the organizer and promoter of the POLO RIDER CUP, is pleased to announce that the next editions of the POLO RIDER CUP will be hosted by the Polo Club Saint-Tropez in 2023 and 2024.

The POLO RIDER CUP is a unique 10-day international polo competition, a new tournament concept set to be the Club World Cup in the FIP World Polo calendar.

One of the characteristics of the POLO RIDER CUP, as it is an itinerant event, is the change of venue every two years, and Polo Club Saint-Tropez was selected for its outstanding facilities in an incomparable location next to Saint-Tropez.

La Bendada wins Charriol Women’s International at the Polo Club Saint-Tropez

Hazel Jackson and Team La Bandada are the winners of the Charriol Women’s International at Polo Club Saint-Tropez last Sunday. The tournament saw four 14-goal teams (female handicap). The Charriol Women’s International in southern France has established itself as an important part of the women’s international polo calendar. In the final, English star player Jackson scored five goals for La Bandada and emerged victorious against title defender Maple Leaf with Lia Salvo.

For the 3rd and 4th place the Matryoshka and Dark Ice Charriol teams competed. It was then Matryoshka who won third place followed by Dark Ice Charriol. After the finals, a ‘Sunday Polo’ event was held at the club.

Sabine Schaffer, the Maple Leaf Team Player, won the MVP award and was awarded a luxurious Charriol bracelet. The price for the Best Player Pony has been awarded to the horse Naftalina belonging to Gonzalo Pieres.
