Queen’s Cup Pink Polo, Saturday 3rd March 2018 at the Thai Polo Club Pattaya: The Queen’s Cup Pink Polo is a prestigious international ladies polo contest organized to raise funds for the Queen Sirikit Centre for Breast Cancer at King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital, Bangkok. Now in its 10th year, this much-loved ladies tournament is held annually at Thai Polo & Equestrian Club. As a completely charitable event, it highlights the competitive nature of ladies polo, with players from many countries invited to participate and show their skills, as well as raises funds for a commendable cause.

In addition to the sporting activities, Queen’s Cup Pink Polo provides a popular social side with guests and spectators enjoying activities for all the family, including games at sponsors’ pavilions, pony rides for children, a fashion show on horseback, kids polo lessons and kids polo match. Jointly organized by Mrs. Nunthinee Tanner, first lady polo player and co-owner of Thai Polo & Equestrian Club, and Dr. Kris Chatamra, founder and director of the Queen Sirikit Centre for Breast Cancer, the event stresses pink as the colour of the day with the clubhouse at decked out in pink. Spectators are encouraged to wear pink to show their support for the fight against breast cancer.

Opened in 2005, the Queen Sirikit Centre for Breast Cancer has quickly grown into the country’s pre-eminent unit of excellence in the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer. Dr. Kris Chatamra, a surgeon and oncologist with over 30 years experience in the UK, has put together a strong team and sophisticated advanced equipment that is capable of efficiently treating patients, conducting clinical research and training Thai doctors involved in the fight against breast cancer.

It is a cause that Mrs. Tanner is keen to support through Pink Polo: “We hope that our event increases awareness of the threat which breast cancer poses to many women. At the same time, we hope our event will also introduce a new generation to the exciting game of polo.”
