Bespoke Fabergé Jewelry to be Auctioned for The Gemfields Foundation

MIAMI, July 17, 2023 – Regent Seven Seas Cruises®, the world’s leading luxury ocean cruise line, today announced that Sarah Fabergé, Founding Member of The Fabergé Heritage Council and great-granddaughter of Peter Carl Fabergé, will serve as Godmother to the ship that will embody A Heritage of Perfection, Seven Seas Grandeur.

DeMarco continued “Seven Seas Grandeur has been inspired by the past and stunningly reimagined for the future, exemplifying our heritage of perfection with unrivaled space, unparalleled service, epicurean perfection, and transformative experiences that begin the moment guests step aboard. Fabergé’s storied legacy of unwavering perfection, unparalleled craftsmanship, and relentless pursuit of excellence aligns harmoniously with the core values of our own distinguished luxury brand.”

“Today’s Fabergé looks to the ingenuity of my great-grandfather, Peter Carl Fabergé and his constant pursuit of excellence,” said Sarah Fabergé, Director of Special Projects and Founding Member of the Fabergé Heritage Council. “I am honored to be Godmother to this extraordinary new ship which, like Fabergé, has been inspired by the past and reimagined for the future, and I also look forward to hosting Regent guests onboard Seven Seas Grandeur for my exclusive Spotlight Voyage in 2024”.

Great-granddaughter of Peter Carl Fabergé – the legendary artist-jeweler and creative and entrepreneurial genius behind the world-renowned company that bore his name – Sarah is member of the Fabergé Heritage Council which helps to support the Fabergé Management Team in its pursuit of excellence and exclusivity and provides guidance on Peter Carl Fabergé and his legacy.

As part of Regent’s partnership with Fabergé, Sarah will wear bespoke earrings and a ring specifically designed for the upcoming Christening event. These exquisite pieces, made of 18k white gold and featuring blue guilloché enamel, white diamonds and pearls, will not only grace Sarah as an ensemble during this elegant event but will also be auctioned to raise money for charity in 2024. The proceeds from this auction will be donated to the Gemfields Foundation, the charitable arm of Gemfields which is the parent company of Fabergé. The foundation is dedicated to undertaking various activations designed to address poverty alleviation in communities and wildlife conservation in sub-Saharan Africa. Notably, the charity’s impactful projects span countries which Regent visits, such as Madagascar and Mozambique.

Sarah’s appointment as Godmother to Seven Seas Grandeur comes in celebration of Regent Seven Seas Cruises’ partnership with Fabergé. As part of the collaboration, Regent previously announced the commission of a one-of-a-kind, meticulously hand-crafted objet d’art known as Journey in Jewels. This exquisite Fabergé egg will hold the distinction of being the first-ever permanent resident of its kind on the open seas, proudly serving as the crowning jewel within the ship’s awe-inspiring multi-million-dollar art collection.

Additionally, Sarah will host a Fabergé Spotlight Voyage on board Seven Seas Grandeur, sailing July 1, 2024, enveloping luxury travelers into the world of Fabergé with small group master-class programs, exclusive access to unique and intimate shore-side tours, jeweled egg demonstrations and fascinating lectures and screenings. The 10-night sailing will depart from Rome (Civitavecchia) and cruise the Mediterranean, calling in Salerno, Italy; Taormina (Sicily), Italy; Valletta, Malta; Palma de Mallorca; Barcelona, Spain; Provence (Marseille), and Antibes, France before ending at Monte Carlo.

Elegant Christening Ceremony with Dazzling Entertainment

Seven Seas Grandeur will be christened at an elegant gala event in Miami on December 10, 2023. Those in attendance, including loyal Regent past guests, valued Travel Partners, and VIPs, will enjoy a performance by Emmy and Tony Award winning actress and singer Kristin Chenoweth.

Kristin, who’s career achievements were recognized with a star on The Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2015, has starred in countless successful productions across film, television and stage including Pushing Daisies, Glee and Wicked. Design Secrets of The Most Exclusive Address at Sea

Each Regent Suite is as distinct as it is breath-taking, offering its own personality and theme of design. The responsibility to create an authentic, unforgettable Regent Suite for Seven Seas Grandeur fell to Studio DADO’s founding partner Yohandel Ruiz, and, lead designer, June Cuadra, who were delighted to take on the challenge.

“We imagined the Regent Suite on board Seven Seas Grandeur to be unique and different from previous vessels, capturing the curiosity and discerning eye of an art collector,” stated Ruiz.

Cuadra added, “We really envisioned the space as a gallery, where every piece of furniture, every finish material, every artwork has been painstakingly curated to make the space feel very inviting and welcoming.”

In an exclusive interview with Jason Montague, president and CEO, Regent Seven Seas Cruises, the creative duo goes on to detail the design secrets of the next Regent Suite.

Moments of Luxury from Start to Finish

The artistic theme begins before the guest even sets foot in the palatial suite, where Italian marble has been used to create a beautiful archway around the entry-door creating excitement and anticipation of what lies beyond. Once the doors open, the dramatic hallway contrasts with the bright, sprawling suite revealing vast ocean views.

Studio DADO have created more “moments” throughout the accommodation to heighten the overall experience. For example, an unexpected faux fireplace, with bronze flame, completes the sophisticated living area, while afternoon daydreaming or night-time stargazing on twin chaise lounges is possible in the skylit, glass-enclosed “Parlor”, a new space for Seven Seas Grandeur’s Regent Suite.

Reimagined Master Bedroom and Master Bathroom

The master bedroom offers a visually distinct experience to previous Regent Suites. The bedroom features an extravagant four-poster bed housing a Hästens Vividus mattress, and artistry continues to envelop the design with a custom-made eglomise art panel by Confluence Studios crowning the head of the bed.

The interview unveiled never before seen renderings of the ultimate luxury – the Regent Suite master bathroom, an in-suite spa. Studio Dado explained that they distinguished this area from previous Regent Suites by capitalising on the unrivalled ocean views, placing a “jewel-box” shower in the centre of the space and a jetted bathtub joining heated loungers adjacent to the window wall.

The bathroom offers guests a complete in-suite spa experience with a treatment area offering unlimited complimentary spa services, sauna, steam room and a choice of luxurious bath amenities including soaps and lotions from Bottega Veneta, Guerlain and L’Occitane, among a host of other beauty and well-being amenities.

Along with art, master craftmanship is a key theme throughout the suite, and is nowhere more evident than in the master bathroom with a total of 9 different types of marble used to create his and her vanity units, the bathtub, heated loungers and much of the walls and flooring.

Further details about the ship’s suites, restaurants, amenities, and onboard experiences will be revealed at RSSC.com/Seven-Seas-Grandeur leading up to her 2023 debut.

Short, condensed, intense – this sums up the 2020 polo season! Nevertheless, we were offered numerous polo highlights.

It was a challenging 2020 polo season, with the omen often pointing to storm. It is all the more astonishing that, in the end, the review is consistently positive. Not only the team from Polo Park Zurich responded to the challenges of the pandemic with a perfect mix of flexibility, resilience and creativity, but in fact, the entire world of polo sports adapted with these attributes to unpredictable and frequently changing regulations that impacted  travel and event organization of the 2020 polo season.

One of the highlights was the Swiss Medium Goal Championship in Zurich, in which visitors were pampered with high-class games and South American flair. And with the German Low Goal Championship 2020 in Berlin, the first great tournament of the German Polo season was able to take place despite the pandemic restrictions.

Fortunately, the signs are now pointing towards optimism for the next season. There was even a tournament premiere to celebrate in June 2021: With twelve teams from eight countries, the first edition of the Polo Rider Cup in Chantilly, France, turned out to be a success and received a lot of media attention.

The anticipation remains and we hope for ride and play through a less stormy season.

Compass Rose – A Unique Dining Experience Reimagined

Designed by the multi-award-winning Studio DADO, Seven Seas Grandeur’s elevation of luxury travel begins with the cruise line’s signature speciality restaurant Compass Rose, the menu of which allows guests to uniquely curate their own dining experience on every visit.

“Restaurants on board all Regent ships are exquisite, but for Seven Seas Grandeur’s Compass Rose we wanted to create a space that was truly a feast for the eyes,” said Yohandel Ruiz, founding partner, Studio DADO. “This new design of Compass Rose will pique guests’ curiosity and sense of wonder before they have even set foot in the restaurant, and go on to delight with a sumptuous, personalised meal in dramatic and beautiful surroundings. It’s a dining experience that they will regale friends and family with time and again.”

A beautiful cascading waterfall sculpture welcomes guests

The captivating new design of Compass Rose starts outside the restaurant, with a delicate, cascading waterfall sculpture imbuing tranquillity and fashioned with laser-cut metal and hand-blown glass. Once inside, guests will be greeted by a canopy of interwoven crystal and wood-edge illuminated trees arching overhead, giving the impression of dining in a beautiful and enchanted forest.

A canopy of interwoven crystal and wood-edge illuminated trees envelops the restaurant

As the sun goes down and dinner is served, guests will be awe-struck by the floor to ceiling illumination of the thousands of individually placed crystal-faceted leaves which are encrusted on the kaleidoscope of pillars and branches enveloping the restaurant. A star-dusted view of the ocean is also provided by hundreds of twinkling lights surrounding the windows.

Adding to the atmospheric dining experience will be a custom-designed mural by Confluent Studios. Crafted with gold-leaf and Verre Eglomisé, the mural will depict the flora and fauna at the forest’s edge making the restaurant appear endless.

Star-dusted ocean views

Ruiz continued, “Our goal was to create a space that is magical and transformative which, much like Compass Rose’s menu, has the potential to delight guests with something new each time they dine.”

Providing more choice than cruise travellers will have experienced before, Compass Rose offers a tantalising mix of new and familiar items on every visit. Guests are able to design their very own entrée from preferred sides, sauces, pastas and main features such as Black Angus filet mignon, New Zealand lamb chops, Maine lobster tail and king sea scallops. The restaurant also has daily changing specials, as well as a wide vegan and vegetarian menu.

SOUTHAMPTON, May 27, 2021 – Having already announced the September return of Seven Seas Splendor®, Regent Seven Seas Cruises® has confirmed its resumption of sailing plan for the rest of The World’s Most Luxurious Fleet, which will see all five ships back exploring the oceans by February 2022.

The cruise line intends to preserve already published itineraries as much as possible, beginning with Seven Seas Explorer® on October 16, 2021, from Venice, Italy, as the ship takes over five of Seven Seas Mariner’s® published cruises, with Mariner going into a technical dry-dock. Seven Seas Mariner will resume sailing December 18, 2021, from Miami, Florida, as will Seven Seas Navigator® on January 6, 2022. Finally, Seven Seas Voyager® will return on February 15, 2022 from Barcelona, Spain.

As part of the return to sail plan, 17 new sailings in Europe and the Caribbean have been created for Seven Seas Explorer and Seven Seas Voyager, which can be viewed at RSSC.com/Regent-returns, and are scheduled to go on sale in early June 2021.

“We thought carefully about how, when, and where reuniting the entire Regent family would enable us to consistently deliver an unrivalled experience with every luxury included, as well as provide exceptional destination explorations,” said Jason Montague, president and chief executive officer, Regent Seven Seas Cruises. “We are incredibly excited that all five of our ships will be back on the ocean by early 2022, the year of our 30 th anniversary. The World’s Most Luxurious Fleet is ready to return, and our crew will be there eagerly waiting to welcome all our guests back onboard once again.”

In conjunction with today’s announcement, and while considering the global health environment, the cruise line has cancelled all sailings up to each ships’ respective restart date. Guests with impacted bookings will be contacted directly or via their Travel Advisor.

“We truly sympathise with those guests who have had their much anticipated and deserved cruise experience cancelled,” continued Montague. “We do hope however that travellers impacted by these changes can find a new reason to sail with us on our newly created cruises in the Caribbean and Mediterranean.”

Regent Seven Seas Cruises’ Return to Sailing
With Seven Seas Splendor embarking on September 11, 2021 from Southampton, UK, its inaugural season on Regent’s four remaining ships will begin their long-awaited return to the ocean from October 2021.

Seven Seas Explorer
Seven Seas Explorer will welcome back guests on October 16, 2021 sailing from Venice, Italy. Originally Planned European Sailings Anticipated to Go Ahead with First Voyage Around the UK Multi-Layered SailSAFE™ Health & Safety Programme Implemented to Guide Restart

SOUTHAMPTON, April 28, 2021Regent Seven Seas Cruises® today announced its return to sailing with Seven Seas Splendor cruising from the UK beginning September 2021. The voyage will mark the cruise line’s return to service, as well as Seven Seas Splendor’s inaugural season, with the ship having only completed two cruises with guests after being christened in February 2020. With a phased return to sailing for the rest of the fleet, luxury travellers will soon be able to once again enjoy the unrivalled Regent experience with the peace of mind that comes with the multi-layered SailSAFE™ health and safety programme.

“Come September we will have the double celebration of our return to the seas as we also recommence the inaugural season of the ship that perfects luxury, Seven Seas Splendor,” said Jason Montague, president and chief executive officer, Regent Seven Seas Cruises. “With immaculate design, luxurious suites, exquisite cuisine, dynamic entertainment and outstanding personalised service, Seven Seas Splendor was one of the most highly anticipated ships to launch in the history of cruising, and my promise to our loyal and eager guests is that without a doubt she will be worth the wait.”

The cruise line intends to preserve originally planned itineraries, as much as the global health environment at the time allows, presenting guests with the exceptional cruise and destination experience which they have come to expect from Regent Seven Seas Cruises.

The first cruise in her inaugural season has Seven Seas Splendor scheduled to set sail September 11, 2021 for an 11-night voyage, round-trip from Southampton, England visiting Scotland, Northern Ireland and Ireland. After her initial voyage, the ship will transition to explore the beautiful Mediterranean before crossing the Atlantic to sail in the Caribbean. While many of her sailings are already sold out, there are still opportunities to cruise later in Seven Seas Splendor’s European season, and in the Caribbean early 2022.

To ensure a smooth and safe resumption of operations, the remainder of the Regent fleet’s return to sailing will be announced at future dates, with voyage suspensions now extended through September 30, 2021 for Seven Seas Explorer ® , Seven Seas Mariner ® , Seven Seas Navigator ® , and Seven Seas Voyager ® . In conjunction with today’s announcement, Seven Seas Splendor’s voyages are suspended up until her September 11, 2021 voyage from Southampton.

Multi-Layered SailSAFE Health & Safety Programme

During its voluntary suspension of sailings, Regent Seven Seas Cruises built upon its existing comprehensive health and safety protocols by establishing the SailSAFE health and safety programme, a robust and sciencebacked strategy that creates multiple layers of protection against COVID-19. The Programme was developed with guidance from a team of public health and scientific experts including the SailSAFE Global Health and Wellness Council.

“The well-being of our guests, crew and communities we visit has always been of paramount importance, and our SailSAFE health and safety programme ensures it continues to be without diminishing the guest experience,” continued Montague. “Offering unrivalled space at sea, our ships perfectly balance safety with comfort and freedom through spacious suites, multiple gourmet dining options and expansive, social areas.”

By visiting RSSC.com/HealthSafetyProtocols, guests and Travel Partners can see an overview of current requirements to sail – such as all guests and crew being fully vaccinated at least two weeks prior to departure and having universal testing – all which the cruise line believes will provide a uniquely safe and healthy holiday experience. The cruise line has confirmed that these and other requirements will be in place until a time when the protocols can be confidently adjusted, and that Regent will constantly monitor the global health environment to protect the safety and security of guests, crew and communities visited. Specific requirements to sail will be communicated directly to guests closer to the time of sailing.
